The Orediggers were on the road for an exhibition game with the Lady Griz in Missoula yesterday. The game marks the first meeting between the Lady Griz and Orediggers since Brian Holsinger (and his assistant Nate Harris) took over the program a year ago. Coach Holsinger was the head coach of Montana Tech for 2 seasons, 2005-06 and 2006-07, going 6-23 his first season, and 16-13 in his second year. Coach Harris played for Montana Tech and was an assistant coach in the Oredigger men’s program.

The whistle blew, and the Diggs shot right out of the gate, hitting 50% from the floor in the first 10 minutes. Tavia Rooney had 8 points in the first, Redshirt Freshman Aubrie Rademacher had 6, and the Diggs led 21-20 after the first quarter.

The Lady Griz were able to shake off the first 10 minutes and put together a run over the middle quarters that the Diggs were never able to recover from, outscoring Montana Tech 50-16 over the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

The final score from Missoula, The Lady Griz 87, Montana Tech 56.
