Jo Dee Messina Concert Highlights This Weekend’s Butte-Silver Bow County Fair

From livestock to local talent, cake auctions to Country Music superstars, this weekend's Butte-Silver Bow County Fair will have a little bit of something for everybody as it runs Thursday thru Saturday at the Butte Vigilante Saddle Club, just south of town at 6354 Albany.

A full weekend of events begins with the Market Livestock show at 9am Thursday and will wrap up with country music superstar Jo Dee Messina taking the stage in the arena at 7:30pm on Saturday.  Messina rose to stardom in the late 1990s behind a string of chart-toppers including "Bye Bye", "Heads Carolina, Tails California" and a remake of the Dottie West classic, "Lesson in Leavin".  In an interview with KAAR-FM's Tom O'Neill, Messina noted that on her recent tour, the crowd response has been incredible.  "There's been a couple of shows where I can't even hear myself," Messina explained in reference to the roar of the crowd.  "They come through my ear monitors and the speakers on the stage because it's just so loud," she said.  Fair Board Member Josh O'Neill and the rest of the board are making sure Messina will have a big crowd Saturday by making tickets super-affordable.  The most expensive tickets are $20.00 and for a limited time O'Neill is making group-admission even less expensive with a 10-ticket for $100.00 deal.  "I'll even deliver them myself," he quipped.  Interested parties can contact Josh directly at (406) 498-8495.  Individual tickets can be purchased at the fair all weekend, at the gate or at the Butte Civic Center box office.

Thursday: 9am -Market Livestock Show followed by Breeding Livestock Show.  5:30pm - Buyers Dinner.  7pm - Cake Auction.  7:30pm-Market Animal Sale & 4H Dance.

Friday: 9am-LIvestock Showmanship.  1pm-Pet Costume Parade.  1:30pm-Timeless Magic.  2pm-Rabbit Show followed by Poultry Show.  3pm-Talent Show (cash prizes).  4pm-Dog Show and Timeless Magic.  5pm-Stick Horse Rodeo and Andy Larson.  6pm-Ranch Rodeo (Parade of Champions at intermission).  9pm-Levi Blom in concert.

Saturday:8am-Color Run followed by Pancake Breakfast.  10am-Round Robin.  1:30pm-Timeless Magic.  2:30pm-Pie-Eating Contest.  3pm-Talent Show (cash awards).  4pm-Timeless Magic.  5pm-Andy Larson.  7:30pm Jo Dee Messina concert.
