Butte's Original Mineyard ready for this year's county fair
In her 145-year history, the Original Mineyard has been many things. First, of course, it was, well, the Original Mineyard where underground mining operations took place from 1878 to 1976. Since the year of our nation's bicentennial, it has worn many hats. A storage area. A festival grounds. A city park. Even a wedding site and reception area. Starting Thursday, the Original Mineyard will turn into a fairground for a weekend as the Butte-Silver Bow County Fair moves north to this popular Uptown gathering site.
