Orediggers Muir earns Frontier Conference Attacker of the Week honors
After a successful opening weekend, going undefeated in the Big Sky Classic volleyball tournament, the 15th ranked Montana Tech Volleyball Team will certainly be moving up in the national rankings. The Orediggers attack was led over the weekend by Olivia Muir who earned the season's initial Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Attacker of the Week award with some impressive statistics.

HELENA, Mont. – Montana Tech Oredigger Olivia Muir was named the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Attacker of the Week announced today. Muir, a 5-foot-11 senior from Smoot, Wyoming, had a big weekend for the Orediggers at the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge where the Diggers racked up three wins over the three days. The Orediggers swept Evergreen College (Wash.) and (RV) College of Idaho, and defeated No. 10 Southwest Assemblies of God (SAGU) (Texas) 3-1. Muir averaged 4.30 kills with a .388 attack percentage on the weekend. Against College of Idaho, she recorded 19 kills and 18 more against SAGU.
Olivia was a 2022 first team all-conference selection as well as named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-Region team. Muir finished the 2022 season with 275 kills and was fifth in the league in hitting percentage with a .219.
Montana Tech is on the road this weekend at the University of St. Francis Big Dogs Classic in Joliet, Ill. August 25th and 26th.
