The Wilder Blue to perform April 7 at Butte's K of C Hall

How do you describe the sound of The Wilder Blue? Perhaps a bit of the Eagles with a hint of Diamond Rio. Steve Miller even? Maybe that's too broad, too commercial. There's definitely country in there, even a hint of rock, but not like the kind we're becoming accustomed to. More of a Nitty Gritty Dirt Band type of Americana. The arrangements are not overproduced and the instrumentation they use is strong. It is music in harmony. Music with a story to tell.

However you describe them, The Wilder Blue has been developing a strong grassroots fan base throughout their homestate of Texas since their formation in 2019 and they have been steadily growing that base outwards. They are a five-piece band consisting of fronman Zane Williams, lead guitarist Paul Eason and drummer Lyndon Hughes along with bassist Sean Rodriguez and multi-instrumentalist Andy Rogers. They are on the road promoting their eponymous sophomore album. Their current tour, while heavily dotted with Texas dates includes shows in neighboring Louisiana and also Connecticut and a couple of shows here in Montana. How can they be so spread out? They have done this through bringing their music directly to their fans be it through one of their high-energy shows or through the distribution of their songs directly through their website. The Wilder Blue is not big on middle men.

One of their two Montana Shows will be here in Butte on April 7 at the Knights of Columbus at 224 W. Park street and it is being promoted by the Montana Booking Agency.
