Summer Freedom: Here’s a Great Way to Ditch the Kids
BUTTE, MT - Is there anything better than getting the kids outside, learning and living life, while you, the responsible parent, get a few hours away to do...well...whatever you want to do?
Although I'm not a parent yet myself, I can imagine that there isn't much better than that feeling. Plus, I remember the days when I was a young tike when my parents would drop me off at summer camp and they would have the biggest smile on their faces. If I had me as a kid and I had the opportunity to get rid of me for a couple of hours, I'd have a smile on my face too.
Whether you love your kids or not (though I really hope you do), it's very human to want to have them go do their own thing while you do yours. Especially if the thing they're doing is learning fundamental skills while in a highly social and welcoming environment. What if I told you that registration has opened for one of those things?
This summer, the Butte Family YMCA here in The Mining City will be hosting their Summer Session Swim Lessons on site at their 2975 Washoe Street location. They boast that in "Y classes, not only are [the kids] taught in a caring way how to swim, but [they] also learn about [themselves]..." That sounds like a great pitch. Plus, most young ages are welcome and are taught anything from water acclamation to stroke development.
Take a look here at the flyer for all the details:
I'm not going to lie, I wish I could sign myself up for this. Sounds like so much fun.
What do you think? Will you be dropping the kids off at the pool this summer?
