Over 20k People Drive This One Popular Street in Butte
BUTTE, MT - I gotta say: here in Butte, we got it pretty good. There are definitely some pros and cons to living here on the Richest Hill on Earth, but I'd say there are more pros than cons, and traffic is one of them. Compared to how some of the other cities here in Montana (looking at you, Bozeman), we have it good, with our Butte streets not even cracking the top 50 busiest in the state.

That being said, we still see some pretty busy roads, with even the local highway averaging about 20,000 travelers a day. But this street in Butte gets a whopping 22,000+ travelers in any given day, according to the Montana Department of Transportation. Can you guess which street it is?

Let's get to the busiest street first. The busiest road in Butte, MT for 2023 was Harrison Avenue. Where Holmes crosses Harrison on the south side of Butte, MDT authorities recorded 22,258 travelers a day.
With all the shops, restaurants, casinos, and grocery options, its no secret why the street is so busy. I was curious how Uptown compares in numbers, and it is quite staggering:
You can see other numbers, like W Park being in the 5,000-6,000 range, but S Montana takes the lead in Uptown at about 10,000 travelers a day—a lot for a small 4-lane street. It could be worse though, right?
