Volunteers needed for upcoming Montana Folk Festival

While Independence Day and tonight's big 3rd of July fireworks show and concert with Morgan Evans on most peoples' minds, it is worth noting that we are less than 2 weeks away from the start of one of Butte's biggest summer festivals.  The Montana Folk Festival is gearing up for its kickoff on Friday, July 14 and it is going to take some work.

This year's Montana Folk Festival will feature performances and demonstrations by over 200 of the nation’s finest musicians, dancers, and craftspeople showcasing multiple performances by more than 20 Artists and groups.  The performances will take place on six stages including a dance pavilion dedicated to participatory dancing as well as a family stage with performances appealing to children of all ages, and a Montana folklife stage. In addition to the performance stages, there are several themed festival areas: the Montana Folklife Area, the Family Area, two Festival Marketplaces and the Festival Food Courts.  There will be a lot to see, a lot to do and a whole bunch of work that will need to be done in order to successfully pull this off.

Volunteers for the Montana Folk Festival are in high demand and the list of opportunities is almost as long.  All skill sets and abilities are needed for everything from transportation to stage setup, from hospitality to CD and beverage sales and much more.  In short, if you can give about 4 hours (the average length of a volunteer shift), they can use your help.  Plus, you'll get a unique look at what it takes to put on such an incredible event.  Interested?  Click here for everything you'll need to know.
