Music on Main opens Thursday with “Friends of the Family” ready to rock

It always seems to me like time drags on a little bit each summer here in Butte until Music on Main fires up for the season.  This year the series gets underway on Thursday and it is going to be well worth the wait.  And if you like guitar-driven blues, rock and boogie, you are going to love the band for this week, Friends of the Family.

Music on Main is fantastic for families, couples or just those who want to enjoy some great food and fantastic music in a wonderful Uptown setting.  TDS Fiber again this year is giving $5 food vouchers to the first 60 kids on site so bring the family and remember to bring the towels in case the popular Foam Machine is out.  Towels are good but things you should leave at home include your pets, your coolers and your outside food and drink.  There will be plenty of options for some fun outdoor dining and adult libations will be available for those 21 years of age and older.

The band to start the season out couldn't be any better, especially if you're a fan of pure musicianship.  Friends of the Family features the incomparable Kale Baldwin on guitar and let me tell you, this dude can flat-out play.  The covers they do, while remaining true to the original the band adds their own unique flair and have a chemistry that can only come from years of playing together.  Friends of the Family will also be one of the bands who will be vying for the final event of the season at the Covellite on September 3.

Bring a lawn chair and get there early.  Things get underway at 6pm and will run until 9.
