We're obsessed with them. We want to have great views when we purchase a home, sacrificing things like "a friendly neighborhood" and "a fourth bathroom" for a gorgeous view of the valley lined with trees in the mountains. You know, depending on your income level.

We all want the room with a view when we book for hotels, even though those "views" may overlook a dirty, rat-infested strip of concrete (Vegas); a long, endless stretch of pretty, copper dirt with what look to be mountains in the far distance (Arizona); or a loud, whirling pool of blue that makes the horizon look like it's leaking (any beachside hotel). My favorite hotel view: Boston, where your window basically touches others, making it one big intimate hallway.

Views. We love them. We love them so much, in fact, that the highest selling album in 2016—a year that saw the best year of the decade for existing home sales—was a little album by a Canadian underground artist named Drake. And what was that album called? Views. Coincidence?

I think not.

So, a town that's a mile above sea level must have great views, right? Oh, it sure do. Anywhere in Uptown serves views of the gorgeous Highlands. Climbing atop the "M" hill (or butte, depending on who you ask) presents ocular splendor through views of the entire region—including all four mountain ranges visible from Butte.

But what about views I don't have to work for? Views that I didn't purchase through a mortgage. Views I didn't burn my legs out to get to. Views that I didn't waste 5 gallons driving to the top of (looking at you, Uptown).

Enter, stage left: Back 9 Sports Bar and Grill. Located at the prestigious Highland View Golf Course, Back 9 provides views that you don't have to work for—unless you love to play the world's most controversial sport; not controversial because of the sport itself, but because it's controversial to even call golf a "sport." Just jokes.

But the best part about Back 9 is that, while you're sitting on the lovely back patio, enjoying a delicious chicken sandwich and a light lager, you get to watch the efforts of dedicated golfers on the course botch their hits or send them soaring. Yes, dinner and a show.

Seriously though, check out these views. And it's not even in Uptown.

Trimmed, manicured, green grass. Open, crisp, blue skies. Casual, puffy, white clouds.
