Montana Tech Volleyball off to National Championship tourney
The Montana Tech Women's Volleyball Team, hot off of their first-round playoff victory over the College of Idaho, have learned their pool, their match time and their opponent at the National Championships in Sioux City, IA. After a frustrating defeat at the hands of the Montana-Western Bulldogs in the Frontier Conference Tournament, the Orediggers have rebounded and now are focused on winning a national championship. The following is a release from the Montana Tech Athletic Department:
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the pool assignments for the Volleyball National Championship Final Site in Sioux City, Iowa toady. The Montana Tech volleyball team is ranked No. 14 going into the final site and is assigned to Pool C. The Orediggers reached the NAIA Final Site for the third time in the last five seasons after winning their second Frontier Conference title. The College of Idaho fell to the Orediggers in the National Championship Opening Round in a sweep Saturday evening.
The other teams assigned to Pool C are No. 3 Eastern Oregon and No. 22 Valley City (N.D.). The Orediggers face Valley City first at 12 p.m. MST on November 30th. The match against Eastern Oregon is on December 1st at 12 p.m. MST. If tie breakers are needed, they will occur the evening of December 1st and the bracket of the Final 8 teams starts on December 2nd.
All games will be streamed through the NAIA Network and the final semifinal and championship matches will be on ESPN3.
