The first Montana High School Association State Baseball tournament will be held this week at 3 Legends Stadium in Butte, Montana.

As graduation draws closer and closer, spring activities in the Mining City are moving towards the postseason as we look towards divisional meets and state tournaments. Here is a look at what's on the slate for the Bulldogs and Maroons this week.

The warm weather is a welcome sight, particularly to those in charge of scheduling Butte High and Butte Central activities. After delays, postponements and cancellations we are keeping our fingers crossed for the warm stretch to continue as the Bulldogs and Maroons look to get things rolling.

Mother Nature continues to dominate the sports schedules this spring. There were several changes to the schedule coming into this week, and as of today (4/12) we have several more for both Butte High and Butte Central.

Okay, seriously, what's with the weather? We're used to a little sprintime snow, but what we're seeing today, well, what is there to do but sit back and complain? Well, for starters, we can start to take a look at what the weather is doing to the area's sports slate and complain about that.

The Butte High Bulldogs will enter the Western AA Divisional tournament as the 7 seed. Their first opponent will be the Bravettes of Kalispell Flathead.

Cadence Graham was simply golden. The 8th-grade reserve showed the poise of a four-year letterman by draining a three-pointer from the right corner with 3.5 seconds to play, leading the Butte High Bulldogs a 51-50 win over the Helena High Bengals Tuesday night at Ross J. Richardson Memorial Gymnasium.

The Butte Bulldogs scored the first nine points of the second half and were able to maintain a comfortable cushion throughout the rest of the game, beating the Missoula Sentinel Spartans 46-31

Butte High school has 3 games left in the regular season. The Dogs have one game this week, (Friday) against the Spartans of Missoula Sentinel. Next week they will close with the Helena Schools, Helena High on Tuesday, and Capital on Saturday.
