The Holiday Season is a special time filled with friends, family and the spirit of giving.  Particularly time with family.  That is why this is one of the most important times of the year to remember those whose immediate families have been redirected to a place where their loved ones are simply unaccessible.  Especially if that person is a child.

Since 1966, what is now Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Butte has been very active in Southwest Montana.  Their mission is to provide and support one-on-one mentoring relationships between their "bigs" and their "littles" which have been instrumental in putting our youth on the right track to productive early adulthood.  Evaluations of their work has shown that upon entering the program, participants are less likely to use drugs and alcohol or to become pregnant and more likely to graduate high school.  And their work is certainly needed in Butte.

Do you have a child who you think would benefit as a "little"?  You can find out how to apply on their website.  What if you're an interested adult who is interested in making a positive change in the life of a youngster?  It only takes a few hours a month that you can spend bowling or playing sports together, reading a book or just enjoying a pizza.  What may not mean much to you will mean the world to them and you can find out how to get involved here.  For further infomation on how you can get involved with BBBS-Butte as a business or individual, stop by their office in the Executive Village at 501 E. Front Street #502 and get started today!
