Coming up in just a couple of weeks is the always-amazing and always-spectacular 4th of July Parade here in Butte, and it's safe to say that excitement is building. Every year, the event is looking to recognize outstanding individuals and citizens to lead the parade as an official Grand Marshal, and this year is no different.

So, What Makes a Grand Marshal?

The Grand Marshal is a cherished and recognizable role that has made its way into Butte 4th of July tradition. Chosen individuals are honored for their significant contributions, dedication, and service to the community of Butte. In a sense, Grand Marshals are chosen to signify the spirit and pride of Butte—anywhere from community leaders to unsung heroes.

How to Nominate

Do you know someone who deserves to be celebrated at the head of this year's parade? The voting process has just opened. Nominations are open to everyone, and submitting your candidate is simple:

  1. Visit butteamericafoundation.org.
  2. Click "Nominate the Grand Marshal" located in the upper left-hand corner of the homepage.
  3. Fill out the nomination form, detailing why you believe your nominee should be selected as this year's Grand Marshal.

The deadline for submissions is June 25, 2024. You don't want to miss your chance to highlight your favorite community member for their dedication to our small but powerful community.

Why Participate?

To nominate a Grand Marshal is to acknowledge and celebrate those who contribute to making Butte a vibrant, caring, and resourceful community. Their stories may end up inspiring others, leading to generations of hard-working community leaders. I'm sure we all know at least one person who deserves to be recognized!
