Want to enter Butte’s 4th of July parade? Here’s what you need to know.
For generations, Butte has had one of the most prolific and impressive 4th of July parades in the state. Indeed, Butte loves a parade. Remember the legendary Montana Power Company floats that seemed to defy gravity? Do you remember Evel Knievel's parade appearances? Butte's parades are legendary. Here's a look at a couple of parades from years gone by.
Butte's 4th of July parade in recent years has even been enjoyed by the First Family.
The 2023 edition of the parade is being planned as we speak with Matt Boyle and the Butte America Foundation in charge and is scheduled for a 10am start time from the Butte Civic Center parking lot and again will head south on Harrison to Elizabeth Warren where disassembly may begin. Entry deadline is 11:59 PM, June 27th, 2023. Late entries received after June 27th will be placed at end of parade and charged a late fee. There will be no exceptions. Late entry fee is an additional $40.00. Boyle notes that due to heavy construction in the Civic Center's immediate area there will be a limited number of times and spaces for float staging and that floats should be assembled the night before. Details will be discussed in a mandatory meeting at the Knights of Columbus the evening of June 27. If you plan on participating, you must designate a licensed driver with current registration and insurance. Complete details are available along with registration information and a list of rules here.
