Uptown Butte Christmas Stroll Grand Marshals have been selected

The following is a press release from George Everett of Mainstreet Uptown Butte:

The nominations have been received and reviewed and a distinguished Uptown business has been selected to serve as the Grand Marshal to be honored to help turn on the lights during the tree lighting ceremony at the Courthouse Rotunda and lead the Children's Light Parade.

The Ackerman family, Ted, Cheryl (Chi Chi), son Derek and daughter Krystal, owners of Butte Stuff at 116 W. Park Street and former owners and developers of the Miner’s Hotel at 53 West Park Street have been selected for this role for 2023 for many good reasons.

The Ackermans have specialized on taking responsibility for nearly vacant space on West Park Street and bringing it back to productivity.  They have done this with the Miner’s Hotel a thriving boutique hotel that they developed and recently sold and the popular 51 Below underground watering hole.  Butte Stuff, a popular gift shop focused on well, Butte Stuff, was downstairs on the ground level at 53 West Park.  https://www.buttestuff.com/.  They have since moved that business to 116 W. Park Street.  Ted also operates Butte Mule Historic Tours out of the Butte Stuff shop to offer guided tours of Uptown Butte.

Historic buildings do best when we do business in them and theirs have flourished under their tender loving care.

Other nominees were put forward, all worthy of recognition.  Nominations were received for Dan and Dixie Harrington who owned and operated Harrington Surgical Supply.  Dixie owned and operated Dixie’s School of Dance, which was responsible for teaching many Butte children the basics and dance (including ballet) and gymnastics over the past few decades.

The owners of Quarry Brewing, Chuck and Lyza Schnabel were nominated for developing their craft brewery first in the basement of the Phoenix Building and then moving and expanding it into the Grand Hotel on West Broadway.

Alex Fetters and Joseph Segna were nominated for their work with the YMCA and other charitable groups in the community, especially around the holidays.
