There is not a better way to pregame the Montana Folk Festival which gets underway Friday in Uptown Butte than with Music on Main this Thursday with the Ken Rich Band.  Indeed while the festival is renowned for bringing in world class entertainers from around the globe, one can argue that the Ken Rich Band, born and bred right here in Butte, Montana, belongs on the world stage as well.  Ken himself is legendary performer who has captivated audiences all over the Northwest for the last 30 or so odd years, but when you add a guy like Kevin LaFond on guitar, you're going to do some even more impressive things.  Scott Murphy and Jimmy Rhodes have been the best rhythm section in Butte for years and a master craftsman like Jim Constantine on mandolin adds a vibe to the band that others simply can't produce.  In short?  You need to check these guys out this Thursday, especially if you haven't seen them before.  Their musicianship is top notch and their setlist is very, very impressive.

Even better, Music on Main is a free, family-friendly event that has turned into something that hundreds of people look forward to every week.  There are some of the best food trucks in town on hand along with games and free Shirley Temples for the kids.  Plus, the first 60 kids who show up get a $5 off coupon to use at the food trucks and the famous Foam Machine may also make a return appearance depending on the weather so remember the towels and the lawn chairs.  Music on Main has plenty for the adults as well so get there this Thursday as the event gets underway as the food trucks open around 5:30 and the band starts at 6.
