Engine No. 25 Restoration Fundraiser Returns to the Butte Civic Center August 15

Supporters of Butte's railroad heritage will have an opportunity to help preserve a piece of the city's history during the Second Annual "Keep Engine 25 On Track" fundraiser on Saturday, August 15th at the Butte Civic Center.

The event will run from 11am to 6pm and is designed to raise money for the ongoing restoration of historic Engine No. 25, a locomotive that has long been a recognizable part of Butte's railroad legacy.  Admission is free and donation will be accepted throughout the day.

Visitors can browse a wide variety of Engine 25-themed merchandise, including hats, wall decor, whistles, t-shirts, coffee mugs, keychains and other memorabilia.  Local businesses have also contributed merchandise that will be available for purchase in support of the restoration effort.

One of the day's biggest attraction will be the raffle drawing as well as the silent and live auctions, featuring everything from handmade train quilts and western artwork by Jim Thomason to restaurant gift certificates, liquor baskets, model train cars, Copper King Inn stays, custom wood benches, area rugs and more.  A 50/50 drawing and other prize giveaways will add even more opportunities for attendees to support the cause while taking home unique items.

The fundraiser will also showcase an impressive collection of railroad and historical displays from organizations including the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives, the World Museum of Mining, the Piccadilly Museum of Transportation, Montana Ntrak Model Railroading, the Western Montana Railroad Historical Association, Operation Llifesave and several other collectors and exhibitors.

Food and refreshments will be available throughout the day, making the event a family-friendly destination for railroad enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
