Butte Sports HOF at last call for plaques for team members

We just heard from our buddy Bill Foley of The ButteCast, who also serves as the Executive Director of the Butte Sports Hall of Fame.  Bill has been particularly busy this year with the 2026 induction just a few weeks away, July 24-25, and with that deadline we are at last call for Hall of Fame plaques for team members that are going into the hall.

The teams entering the Hall are the 1972 Mile High All-Star baseball team, the 1976 Northwest All Star softball team, the 1995 Butte High Wrestling team, the 2000 Butte Central softball team and the 2009 Butte High girls track teams.  All teams won state championships.

All players and coaches from those teams who attend the banquet will be awarded a personalized plaque commemorating their induction but those wishing to receive a plaque must RSVP to Foley by July 14th.  If you are a player or a coach who cannot attend, you can purchase a plaque for $75 plus shipping but again you must contact Foley by next Tuesday.  Foley noted that he has only heard from a small number of players from the '72 Mile High All Star team and the 2009 Bulldog girls track team.  Bill can be reached by phone or text at (406) 491-3022 or by email at foles74@gmail.com.

This year's Green Jacket ceremony is set for 7pm Friday July 24th at the Butte Civic Center and is free to the public.  Social hour begins at 6pm.  The Induction Banquet will start at 7pm on Saturday, July 25 and will also start with cocktails at 6pm.  Tickets for Saturday night are available at the Civic Center box office or website.

There will again be a golf scramble, this year at 1pm on the Par 3 course at the Highland View Golf Course complete with a hole-in-one contest, a prize hole and even a "heckle hole" with Uptown Comedy.  Players can arrive with a team of four or five or individually, no registration is necessary.
