Let me be the first to say that I am not one to doubt the math that the people at Water and Environmental Technologies are showing.  After all, they are some of the smartest people in town doing work that I can barely spell correctly, less understand.  So, when they say that based on 2023 data, approximately 75% of the people who donate blood at this Friday's Blood and Food Drive will get a door prize, I am inclined to believe them.  And these door prizes are pretty cool, too.

This year the folks at WET have really gotten tremendous support from local businesses when assembling their door prize arsenal.  This year donors could win gift certificates from fantastic restaurants like Cassagranda's, Metals Sports Bar and Grill, the Rib and Chop House and Homestake Pub & Grill.  Memberships to Rooted Tribe Yoga and the World Museum of Mining.  A liquor basket from Headframe Spirits, a beer basket Butte Brewery plus a food basket from Great Harvest, goodies from Christina's Cocina will be up for grabs as will a party platter gift certificate from the Pita Pit and Taco Del Sol, an electric toothbrush from Laslovich Orthodontics, a goodie basket courtesy of Lone Peak Physical Therapy, an art piece from Take It Easy Art Studio and a clothing basket from Twisted Sisters.  Sound good?  Book your appointment here.  Donors will be given 10 door prize tickets and will also be given tickets for beers and also coupons to local restaurants and businesses along with plenty of swag.

The Blood and Food Drive will be taking place at Butte Brewing Company, 465 E. Galena, from 10am to 5pm.  If you cannot donate blood, stop by with a few nonperishable food items for a chance at some cool prizes and a lot of fun.

Know Your Butte History: Standing Mine Headframes

Dozens of mine headframes used to dot the Butte hill but most have since been torn down or swallowed by the Pit. Here are the ones that still tower proudly over our town.
