Brown Bag Lunch - Jim Michelotti - Meaderville Christmas Display

Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives (17 W Quartz St, Butte, MT 59701); 12:00 PM

Event Description: 

"The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives’ Brown Bag Lunch Series welcomes Jim Michelotti to present about the Meaderville Volunteer Fire Department’s Christmas Displays.

The Meaderville Volunteer Fire Department began building its Christmas displays in 1945 as a holiday greeting to lift the community’s spirits following World War II. The displays were made up to 1960. In 2003, the Montana History Club recreated a display at the Anselmo Mine. The club has installed one every year since, moving to the Race Track Fire Hall in 2006.
Please join us to learn more about these wonderful displays. Remember to bring your holiday cheer!
The Brown Bag presentation will begin at noon on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, and will last about an hour. The presentation will be held in the auditorium at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives located at 17 W. Quartz Street. Guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and water will be provided.
Brown Bag Lunches are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. Upcoming lectures will focus on topics of local interest. For more information, contact the Archives at (406)782-3280."

Butte Memory Cafe

Butte-Silver Bow Public Library (226 W Broadway St, Butte, MT 59701); 10:30 AM

Event Description: 

"A Memory Cafe is a wonderfully welcoming place for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease or any other form of dementia, or other brain disorders. They are designed to include the care partner as well, for a shared experience. Additionally, it is helpful for people with all forms of mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
A Memory Cafe is a safe and comfortable space where caregivers and their loved ones can socialize, listen to music, play games, and enjoy other appropriate activities. They provide mutual support and exchange information. This by itself is valuable if for nothing more than to obtain information about additional resources."
