"The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives’ Brown Bag Lunch Series welcomes Ian Wilson to present about Montana’s deadliest train wreck.

The Brown Bag presentation will begin at noon on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, and will last about an hour. The presentation will be held in the auditorium at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives located at 17 W. Quartz Street. Guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Columbia River Canoe Project Film Premiere & Concert

The Original Mine Yard (443 N. Main, Butte, MT 59701); 6:00 PM

Event Description: 

"The doors will open at 6:00 PM and the concert with Levi Blom performing will begin at 6:30 PM. The film will follow the concert beginning at 8:15 PM. There will be vendors for food, drinks, ice cream, and popcorn. For kids there will be activities, free posters and gifts, as well as autograph signings which will all start when the doors open. People are welcome to bring lawn chairs, but we ask that you leave all non-service animals at home.
The Columbia River Canoe Project Documentary is a film about the human powered canoe expedition from Butte, Montana all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Robert Lester and Braxton Mitchell lived on the river for 52 days traveling over 1300 miles. On the expedition the two battled through diverse challenges from navigating raging rapids, to paddling miles of flat water under the scorching sun, and even portaging the canoe over 175 miles. The documentary follows the entirety of the expedition while examining the complex issues facing the Columbia River Watershed between Butte, Montana and Astoria, Oregon. It is a story of inspiration, grit, and growth, set in one of North America's most beautiful and important rivers."
