Free Workshop with Kate Huston: Shadowbox Collages

What: "'Kate Huston was born in New Mexico in 1971. During her early childhood she moved to Boston where she attended Museum School of Fine Arts in 1995 and graduated with a BFA in arts education and Studio Art. In 1999, Kate was accepted into the art residency at the Ucross Foundation, and after her residency she moved to Montana. She has had several shows and artist residencies throughout the state, including Aunt Dofe's Hall of Recent Memory, Montana Artist Refuge, Radius Gallery, Jailhouse Gallery at the Myrna Loy, and the Emerson Cultural Center in Bozeman Montana, Omerta Arts Gallery in Helena, and Holter Art Museum.Find all information here.

Volunteer Painting Opportunity

When: Saturday, September 28th, 2024, at 10:00am

What: "Grab your brush and come join Butte Historic Trust in a volunteer painting project at our beautiful historic house at 423 N. Jackson St., Butte. We will be taping window and door openings, painting the interior walls, and painting the ornate front porch. Volunteer assistance is also needed for landscaping the front and backyards. Helpful items to bring would be paint brushes, rollers and roller pans, step ladders, gloves.

Butte Historic Trust is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed to rescue at-risk historic buildings in Butte, Montana, and give them a new lease on life. We do this by purchasing, rehabilitating, and selling the buildings with preservation easements attached. Funds from the sale of a restored property are put toward restoring more buildings." Find all information here.
