Day one of the Frontier Conference Track and Field Championships wrapped up yesterday with both Montana Tech teams in first place.

Montana Tech football will wrap up their spring drill tonight at Alumni, as they prepare for the 2023 Frontier Conference Football season. The Orediggers will open the ’23 campaign against the Saints of Carroll College on September 2nd.

The field of the Cactus Classic iss absolutely stacked, with 5 of the 9 teams in attendance receiving votes (RV) in the latest NAIA National power poll. The Frontier Schools in attendance are Montana Tech, MSU Northern, (RV) Rocky Mountain College, and (#18) UM Western.

5 of the 6 Frontier Conference men's teams will head south this week. The men’s side of the Cactus Classic gets underway in Chandler, Arizona this Friday. The women’s games get rolling on Tuesday. If week 1 of the men’s Frontier Conference schedule taught us anything, it is that each and every game is going to be incredibly important, and that is going to be awfully hard to win on the road.

Coming into Saturday’s games there were 3 teams that still had a possible shot at a playoff game. College of Idaho, number 13 in the country sitting on top of the conference with 1 loss.
