Time to get ready for Snoflinga in Butte starting January 20th! Earlier this month, Tommy O. and Jasmine of Townsquare Media provided information on our websites about the many events planned for three solid days of winter fun! Now that it's crunch time let's revisit the itinerary! To get things off to a great start, Snoflinga's Open Ceremony will get underway this Friday from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Butte High Altitude Skating Center (34 Olympic Way). From there, it's a winter wonderland of top-notch events this Saturday and Sunday (January 21st and 22nd). (See Below)

rivia Night gets underway on Wednesday, December 28th. It's a chance to test your "suave savvy" against family members and friends. One problem, though; your friends and family might not talk to you for a while after you kick their "you know what" in a game of Trivia! This event is a benefit for the Butte Public Library to help with library materials and programs. While the library is also set to provide questions during Trivia Night, the Butte Elks Lodge will be on board with plenty of refreshments. Hmmm, an ice-cold one could make for better trivia answers! Remember, that's Trivia Night on December 28th at the Butte Elks Lodge beginning at 6:30 p.m. All participants for Singo must be 18 years of age or older. So, there you have it! Two fun ways to unwind and enjoy friends and family in the process. That's Trivia Night and Singo at the Butte Elks Lodge (206 W. Galena) next Wednesday and Thursday!

Next, the almighty Copperhead school assembly and downtown parade took place Friday with traditional entries on tap to include Anaconda High Royalty, class floats, and pillaring firetrucks with Copperhead athletes on top. Loyal fans and alum lined the streets for blocks to pay tribute to the Heads. Then, in true homecoming style, the Copperheads football team took to the field Friday night with royalty and the Anaconda High marching band performing during the half. The boys played hard but were defeated by Big Fork. Nonetheless, the support, energy, and spirit of true Copperhead fans were evident from the week-long Homecoming festivities. As with any admiration for an alma mater, this is a feeling that can never be taken away from anyone, no matter the circumstance or outcome. So tell us some of your favorite memories of your alma mater's Homecoming. See more amazing photos from Homecoming below!

Irish Road Bowling: Making its Way Across the Pond to Butte
So, what exactly is Irish road bowling? Many residents in the surrounding area have been familiar with this historic and interesting event for some time now. As illustrated on the websites All Events and Irish Around The World, Irish road bowling dates back to the 1600s, and traditionally involved the hurling of an iron ball in Ireland's countryside. The fewest throws of the dense ball along country roads and landscape is the way to win.
