Mother's Day Weekend is always jam-packed at the Butte Civic Center, what with Mayfair happening with KXLF which, of course, is one of the biggest fair and trade shows in Montana. It's an incredible event and something we all look forward to every year. You can count on finding many old friends wandering through the booths of the Civic Center arena and vendors from just about everywhere in Montana, but in the Civic Center annex on Saturday there is something else happening that you need to know about.
If it's been a while since you took Mom to a nice Spring Tea Party, and most likely it has, you've got a chance to make up for lost time this Saturday at the Belmont Senior Citizens Center here in Butte. Saturday, May 3rd is a Wonderland-inspired tea party that will include a lot more than tea. You can also bring along the whole family because everyone is welcome, and all are invited to dress up as well.
Monday night around 8:45, the Mountain View Cemetery, the final resting place of Evel Knievel and a testament to Butte, Montana's colorful past, was vandalized, apparently by a white box truck, tearing off the beautiful wrought iron arch and support that has stood for well over 100 years.
