Strange UFO Seen Over Butte Leave Many In Awe

If you did, you are not alone. Yesterday, in the late afternoon, reports of a UFO flooded Facebook, other social networks, and barroom discourse. Many of the folks who claimed to see it said they all witnessed something shiny, something large, and something they couldn't quite recognize, though many also compared the shape to a bubble.

Ever since UFOs—or, as the government likes to call them: UAPs, or unidentified aerial phenomena—took to the main stage in 2022 and 2023, when the U.S. government held congressional hearings involving UAPs, UFO sightings have garnered a more serious reputation, going from "drunken ravings in a small garage from your estranged uncle" to "eh, actually, aliens may very well be a thing."

The UFO seen yesterday even managed to get itself captured in photographs by resourceful people back on Earth:

Though it's nice to finally live in an era where clear, trustworthy photos are taken of UFOs, it also comes at a price: is that an actual UFO, or is it something else?

This website, which many users commented on the original UFO Facebook post yesterday, shows a very familiar-looking craft. It turns out that the UFO seen floating over Butte may actually be just a FO, or a weather balloon called the HBAL. Though the balloon linked on the website might be a different craft as seen yesterday over Butte, the two certainly resemble each other and is most likely the culprit behind the skyward madness.
