New Interview: Multi-Grammy Country Legend, Lyle Lovett
BUTTE, MT - Lyle Lovett really is one of a kind.

A singer, songwriter, bandleader, and bonafide storyteller, Lyle has carved out an unmatched place in American music over the last four decades.
Since the early 1980s, his genre-defying blend of country, jazz, swing, folk, and blues has earned him four Grammy Awards and a loyal fanbase that spans generations.
But as much as Lovett is revered for his songwriting and sly wit, it’s his sheer generosity on stage—especially with his iconic Large Band—that sets him apart.
In this conversation I had the honor of having with Lovett, he spoke warmly about the serendipitous way the Large Band came together: a group of musicians who, over time, became more like family than collaborators. Watching them perform feels less like a show and more like a long-overdue reunion between friends, each one bringing a unique voice to the songbook they’ve built together.
And his longevity shows, especially given how his songbook becomes more of a nighttime fable read to children when one has been a part of the industry for so long—how the world has changed, how the audience has changed, and how he’s changed right along with it. Yet through all that evolution, Lovett’s grounded nature never wavers.
I mean, what's more grounded than answering, "What are you most proud of in your life?" with, "My kids, of course"? Nothing! Even I wouldn't have said that, even if I did have kids (just kidding, future kiddos).
Lyle Lovett isn’t just a staple in music, he’s become a living legacy. His work is heartfelt, often humorous, and always profoundly human. After four decades, it’s clear he’s not just performing songs—he’s living them.
Thank you to Lyle Lovett for sitting down with Devon Brosnan on June 18th, 2025, for a one-on-one conversation ahead of his show on July 4th, 2025, at the Elm in Bozeman, MT, courtesy of Logjam Presents and Townsquare Media.
