It may come from your coworker who pokes their head in every morning to pop off a few jokes, just to get you to laugh. It might be found in a situation where someone unwilling falls victim to something hilarious, like my girlfriend's favorite: kids tripping over themselves and falling.

These days, though, comedy comes in the form of a talking head on a stage, invoking unique and hilarious ways of circumnavigating this crazy thing we all call life. Anything from politics to situational observations to food to family is covered. However, one gentleman in particular, who has a gift for comedy more than I've seen with most other comedians, elevates the genre into experiences previously unrealized.

Of course, I'm talking about the comedian, actor, and writer Jamie Lissow, who has been dominating the stage of comedy for years. Impressively, Jamie has no scandals under his belt, no underlying intentions of evil, just a long list of respected acts and an ear for one-liners that is unmatched in the scene currently.

What makes Jamie so unique? After sitting down and talking to him for almost an hour, I believe it goes beyond his honest and not-trying-to-hard style. He's passionate, clearly intelligent, and refreshingly humble, evident by his jokes that are careful and precise without taking themselves too seriously.
