FDA: New ‘Highest Risk’ Warning Over Coffee Creamer in MT
BUTTE, MT - Coffee lovers in Montana are being urged to check their shelves after a major FDA announcement.

A popular coffee creamer has now been classified under the FDA’s highest risk alert — and it’s something that could have serious consequences for some Montanans.
Coffee Creamer Recalled in Montana
Momo Tea Inc. has issued a recall of its MO-CHA brand Premium Non-Dairy Creamer, after it was discovered that the product contains undeclared milk ingredients.
This hidden milk content poses a severe risk to anyone with a milk allergy — a risk that could lead to serious health consequences or even death.
Earlier this week, the FDA elevated the recall to a Class I designation—their highest level of urgency.
According to the FDA, a Class I recall means:
A situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.
Where the Product Was Sold
The recalled MO-CHA creamers were manufactured in China but distributed in various parts of the United States, including Montana.
Roughly 4,500 cases were shipped to a handful of states, and although originally reported in the Northeast, it’s now confirmed that supply chains brought it to stores across Montana.
Each recalled package weighs 2.2 pounds and has a shelf life of two years — meaning these creamers could be sitting in Montana homes or businesses right now.
What to Do if You Bought It
If you purchased MO-CHA Premium Non-Dairy Creamer, the FDA advises you to stop using it immediately.
You should either:
Throw it away, or
Return it to the store where you bought it.
Do not risk consuming it, especially if you or someone in your household has a milk allergy.
More Coffee-Related Recalls Hitting Montana
This recall follows a recent wave of coffee-related warnings. Earlier this month, recalls were also issued for certain ground coffee brands and other popular creamers.
As coffee culture continues to grow in Montana — from cozy cafés in Bozeman to roadside diners in Butte — it’s crucial to stay alert for updates like these.
Your morning cup should be comforting, not dangerous.
