I was aware of what I wanted to do for a profession at an early age. I wanted to be a doctor.

With a desire to help people who were hurting, I thought the best way to do that would be through medicine. However, when I asked my parents for a Chemistry Set one year for my birthday, I got the same answer they gave me when I asked for a real Christmas Tree.

What does a 9-year-old do when he realizes his professional dreams are crushed? He decides to go into the media. So, that's what I did and what I've done for the past couple of decades. First, it's a ton of work, and both are underpaid and underappreciated. Second, I'm married to a teacher and I know how hard she works and the long hours she puts in to make sure her kids have the best chance of learning. Both are a labor of love, and it takes a special type of person to do the job well.
