The Old Saloon in the Paradise Valley has put together a string of incredible shows.

Located in Emigrant, Montana, The Old Saloon was established in 1902 and has been a fixture in the Paradise Valley for over a century. You can read the full history of the saloon HERE.

In that history, it explains that a group of local friends purchased the establishment in 2016, working to renovate the building and upgrade the facilities. Many of the renovations and improvements have centered around live music, and I for one am very thankful.

Over the last several years they have brought in an incredible list of performers to the Old Saloon stage. Acts like Jamey Johnson, Dwight Yoakam, Shakey Graves, Turnpike Troubadours, American Aquarium and Paul Cauthen to just name a few. Some incredible Country/Americana acts have graced the Old Saloon stage.

I want to give you a heads-up about a 3-night run coming up this summer. It starts Saturday, July 15th with The Dead South. The next night July 16th, Elle King will play with Hog Slop String Band opening. Then on to Monday, July 17th, will see Charley Crockett on the stage with Drayton Farley opening.

Tickets for all 3 shows go on sale this Friday, March 31, 2023. You can get ticket information HERE.

The Dead South are a 4-piece string band out of Regina, Saskatchewan. They are “a rock band without a drummer, a bluegrass band without a fiddler.” I hope you have heard their single “In Hell I’ll be in good company” if not look it up, but this is them covering a song by the Decemberists about Butte, so it wins.

Elle King is the deal. The power in her voice is just incredible. She is going to put on one hell of a show. Her opener is the Hog Slop String Band. If you have attended Under the Big Sky over the years you should be familiar with these boys. Every single time I’ve been lucky enough to see them, I come away talking about how damn good they are live. The ticket price is worth it for Hog Slop, the idea that you get the incredible desert of Elle King means night 2 is a can’t miss.

The 3-night run ends with Charley Crockett on Monday the 17th. Charley brings a little bit of everything to the party, I think most people would call him country, or Americana, but he slathers in a significant helping of the blues, and even some southern soul. Charley adds to his growing army of devoted followers every time he steps on the stage.

Tickets for all three of these shows go on sale this Friday, March 31st and you can follow THIS link to find out more information about the shows, but also about the Old Saloon in Emigrant.
