With three games remaining in the Frontier Conference regular season, the Orediggers will celebrate Senior Day, as the Saints of Carroll College come marching into town.

The latest NAIA Top 25 was released earlier today and amazingly, nothing changed on the women’s side. Carroll remains #11, Western holds at #15, and Rocky rounds out the Frontier schools at #22.

Let’s look at the current Frontier Standings, followed by Thursday’s games.

Carroll College –              11-1      20-5
UM Western                    9-3         21-4
Rocky                                 9-3         17-7
Providence                       4-8         14-11
Montana Tech                 3-9         7-15
MSU Northern                 0-12      7-18

Carroll College has won the last 15 meetings between the Saints and the Orediggers dating back to 2017. The last Oredigger victory over the Saints was led by Martha Dembeck and Hattie Thatcher. Martha put up 22 points in the win, Hattie Thatcher netted 21 and supplied 7 assists in a 78-64 Tech win, some 2,171 days ago.

This is the final conference road game for the Saints, as they will finish with Rocky and Providence at home. To be Blunt, the Saints have been awful good as of late, winning their last 8 straight games.

There are two big numbers for the Saints, they are #3 in the country for turnovers, at 11 a game, and 5th in the country for points allowed at 51. They don’t give their opponents additional offensive opportunities by turning the ball over, and when the other team does have the ball, they just don’t get good opportunities to score.

The Saints are led by Jamie Pickens averaging 16 points a game, Kyndall Keller is getting double digits a game, averaging 11, and Sienna Swannack is averaging 9 points a game for the Saints.

Montana Tech will be playing their final home game of the season, and therefore honoring their senior athletes, Dani Urick and Madison Allen. Tavia Rooney (a junior) will also be honored, as she will not return for her senior season. The impact that these 3 have had on the Oredigger program can’t be overstated. Dani enters Thursday’s game with 1206 points as an Oredigger, Tavia just recently joined the 1,000-point club as well, she currently sits at 1061 points and 830 rebounds. And, everyone knows that the game of basketball doesn’t fly without a good point guard and Madison Allen has been a great one.

Tech will need to play a full 40(+) minutes to have a chance at knocking off Carroll Thursday, but the team has battled hard all year long and will be ready. Montana Tech is led in scoring by Tavia Rooney at 14 points a game, Aubrie Rademacher is in double digits with 10, and Dani Urick checks in at 9 points a game.
