The United Veterans Council of Silver Bow County will host the annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at the United Veterans Memorial at Stodden Park.

The ceremony will take place at 10:00 am on Memorial Day, May 29th. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Civic Center. The guest speaker for the ceremony will be Elton “Mick” Ringsak Jr.

‘Mick’ Ringsak is a decorated Vietnam Veteran, Ringsak’s military career included tours of duty in Germany and Tunisia as a Captain in the Army Corps of Engineers.  He was honorably discharged in 1981 as a major in the United States Army Reserve.

In 2001 Mick was named to head the Small Business Administration, Region VIII. The Denver-based region, the most rural in America, includes Colorado, North and South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana.

Upon his retirement from the Small Business Administration, on June, 10, 2008, he was honored on the floor of Congress, with a tribute to his service.

“Mr. President, today I pay tribute to an
outstanding advocate of small and rural business, Elton ``Mick''
Ringsak, who will be concluding his time as Small Business
Administration Region VIII Administrator in July of 2008.
For nearly 8 years he has been a champion for small business in rural
America. He has recognized the important role they play in
strengthening the local and national economies of our country and I
have appreciated the excellent work he has done for the State.”
