
Bulldogs, Maroons gear up for Spring Sports postseason
As we approach the final weekend before State, the Montana high school spring sports season shifts into high gear as local teams and individuals look to qualify. Butte High and Butte Central baseball along with the Bulldog softball team are facing play-in games and both schools tennis and track & field teams are looking at their respective divisional meets. Here is where you will find our high school athletes in action this week.
SOFTBALL
TUESDAY - DILLON AT BUTTE CENTRAL
Butte Central has one remaining regular-season contest on their schedule and they will celebrate Senior Night as they host the Dillon Beavers at Stodden Park Field #2. The varsity contest is set for 3pm and the JV contest is at 5pm.
THURSDAY - HELENA CAPITAL AT BUTTE HIGH
The Bulldogs will host the Helena Capital Bruins with a berth in the 2026 State Tournament on the line. The game will be played at Stodden Park Field #1 at 3pm with a second game to follow at 5pm if necessary.
BASEBALL
FRIDAY - FLATHEAD AT BUTTE HIGH
The Butte High Boys find themselves in a similar situation as the girls as they will host a State Tournament play-in contest Friday at 3 Legends Stadium. The boys will play host to the Flathead Braves at 3pm with a second contest to follow at 5pm if necessary.
FRIDAY - BUTTE CENTRAL AT COLUMBUS
The Maroons will be facing the Columbus Cougars for a berth in the State A Baseball Tournament. The first pitch is scheduled for 2pm in Columbus.
TRACK & FIELD
FRIDAY - BUTTE HIGH AT DIVISIONALS
The Bulldogs will head to the divisional meet in Helena with events beginning at 11am
FRIDAY/SATURDAY - BUTTE CENTRAL AT DIVISIONALS
Butte Central will be competing in the Western A Divisional in Frenchtown. Events begin at 1pm on Friday and 11am on Saturday.
TENNIS
THURSDAY/FRIDAY - DIVISIONAL TENNIS MEETS
Butte High's tennis teams will be competing at the divisional meet in Missoula. Matches at Playfair Park begin at 10am on Thursday and 8am on Friday.
Butte Central will be hosting the Central A Divisional meet at Stodden Park. Matches on Thursday and Friday will begin at 9am.
