One of the most rewarding and enjoyable activities a child can take up is a musical instrument.  Maybe yours has found this already.  The reward is not only learning about music and the instrument itself, but the people that you are bound to meet through your involvement and the many friendships that you will make.  The Young Musicians Club of Butte is an organization that provides this and more with registration coming up on January 16th at East Middle Schoo for prospective and returning young musicians.

The Young Musicians Club is open to students in the 4th through 12th grades and is offering instruction for those who wish to learn to play the clarinet, flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, drums, violin or guitar.  Students will meet once weekly for instruction with returning wind instrumentalists eligible for band participation.  Classes will meet at East Middle School on Mondays and Tuesdays between 3:15pm and 5:30pm.  The cost is $60 for around 15 lessons, or about 4 dollars per lesson, and need-based scholarships are available for low-income families.

Registration will be January 16, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the East Middle School band room. (Go through the Stuart Street gate, drive behind the school, and enter the building through Door 12. Watch for signs directing you to the band room.) Registration will continue between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. on January 20-21, 2025, also at East Middle School.  Young Musicians Club instruments will be available to rent at registration, current students will be offered the option of continuing their rental.  If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact Tom Patton at (406) 490-1537, Bruce Schuelke evenings at (406) 479-0038 or email bschuelke1942@gmail.com.
