First responders deserve and have earned our respect.  Police officers, EMTs, firefighters.  What they offer every time they show up to work is commendable.  What they are willing to put on the line when called upon is sometimes superhuman.  Let's talk about Butte firefighters for a moment.  Since our town's incorporation, firefighters have put themselves between us and disaster.  We can trace their bravery all the way back to the Kenyon-Connell warehouse explosion of 1895, which claimed the lives of 13 brave Butte firemen.  We have lost firefighers in the line of duty as recently as 1954.  To this day, when the bell rings, our firefighters spring into action and many times it is into a dire situation.

Local hero Brant Bristol, a Captain with the Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department, answered that call earlier this month when he was putting out a structure fire and a roof collapsed, striking Bristol and causing significant injuries.  While Captain Bristol survived, he faces a long road to recovery.  But Bristol has some close friends and a community in his corner.

Join friends of Captain Bristol along with supporters at Metal's Sports Bar and Grill on the corner of Park and Main for "Pint Night" Thursday, June 1 from 6 to 9pm.   A portion of all draft, can and bottled beer sold will be donated to Captain Bristol and his family as he recovers from his injuries.  If you're a lover of microbrews, Metals is your place with craft beer on tap from Butte Brewing Co., Bozeman Brewing Co., Big Sky Brewing Co., Philipsburg Brewing Co. and many others.  Of course, Metals will have all of your favorite domestic beers on hand as well.  For details, please get ahold of Dave at Metals, (406)782-5534.
