‘Unexplained': Exclusive Photos of Butte’s Most Haunted Building
BUTTE, MT - This year, Halloween is here early.
Recently, I had the opportunity to explore the Old St. James Hospital here in Butte, Montana. It was a fascinating experience, I had an incredible tour guide, and I got some interesting photos—all while learning about their plan to refurbish and reinvent the utility of the original structure. However, it didn't leave me feeling scared or spooked, as it was during the day and I was with others who were understandably more interested in the building itself rather than the spookiness that may lie inside.
From there, I got connected to the owners of another legendary Butte structure that many have lovingly called "the most haunted building in Butte." Whether that's true or not, I knew I had to get in there and, if I was as persuasive as I hoped, secure an overnight stay—solo. And that's exactly what I did.
The Dumas Brothel here in Butte, Montana, has been a host to a number of spooky legends over the years. Being the longest running brothel in American history, the building—located in the heart of ghost sighting country: Uptown Butte—just reeks of ghostly energy and spiritual presence. Plus, being there overnight by myself was something that I will never forget.
Though I'm somewhat of a skeptic (I know, that's what they all say), I must say that there are some photos in this collection that have weird orbs, unexplained shadows, and something else entirely that I had to point out (you'll see it down below).
My full account of the solo overnight stay at the Dumas (including some things that go beyond the photos) will be released soon, but for now, I hope you enjoy the photos I took at the Dumas. And make sure to let us know what you think.
