Butte Beat: Fall Vibes in A Beautiful, Restored Historic
BUTTE, MT - Autumn.
If you're anything like me, that one word alone triggers an explosive feeling of welcomed nostalgia, oversized hoodies, and warm coffee shops, all rolled into one.
There's nothing quite like it. If you're having trouble relating to that feeling, do me a favor and picture this: a long, tree-lined, residential street, the smell of wet pavement from a recent rain inhabiting the crisp air as it lightly tugs at your skin, the sounds of laughter and kids running around inside a warmly-lit house, all as the sun sets in a distant horizon to create a purple-blue color—dark enough to provoke a sense of naturalistic wonder, but just light enough to see it dancing around you.
This is the feeling of Fall (to me), and there aren't many things that come close. However, being the social being I am, there is one scenario that comes close to invoking the feeling of Fall that envelopes you like a thick blanket.
Sitting in a coffee shop. A coffee shop with tons of natural light pouring in from massive windows, where one could watch the weather come and go as it pleases. A coffee shop with wood fixtures and furniture, with warm, carefully-selected lighting, and little nooks to discreetly sit back to appreciate it all. And—this one is for the kids—a coffee shop with its own, reliable public WiFi network. Ironically, the one thing that doesn't necessarily make or break the experience for me is the coffee.
However, when a coffee shop can provide all the fixings to make for the perfect Fall hideaway AND have truly delicious coffee, then a new standard has been set. And that's exactly the standard Drizzle Sips and Scoops in Uptown Butte delivers.
I stopped in for an iced cup of Joe, expecting nothing, and was greeted by a very friendly gentleman behind the counter, a historic over-100-years-old building, and the perfect seat under some stairs to read and observe the scene play out in front of me. Plus, the cold brew I sipped down faster than usual was the proverbial stuffing atop the Thanksgiving turkey.
Fall, Fall, Fall.
However, to properly appreciate this year-old Butte shop, I must remove my pumpkin-framed burgundy-colored glasses and look at the facts: a family-owned business that aims to source their products locally inside of a 1907-built historical building in the heart of Uptown Butte that still has its original charm through hardwood flooring and original brick facade. What's not to love?
Alright, give me my Autumn glasses back. Ahh, that's better. Next time you're in the mood for a Fall treat, stop into Drizzle and get a dose of Autumn to all of your senses. And tell them Devon sent ya. They'll have no idea who you're talking about.
