Referred to as "Sully" throughout my youth, I contemplated using it as an "on-air" name. Needless to say this never happened, but it's still fun to mention and there's still time! As a graduate of the University of Montana, I first ventured my way onto the air waves as a television reporter. Not long after, I dove into the radio industry. I enjoy media as a career and the potential it has to inform and support the community. Other than consume comfort food nightly, I do have some hobbies. I'm a huge fan of forensic documentaries, chick flicks and mobster movies (I don't understand the combination, either) Plus, I love concerts! Rock, country, jazz, classical, reggae, alternative, electronic, R&B, hip-hop, rap, folk...pick the genre and I'm there! I especially love outdoor concerts and another great love I have of the outdoors, involves long walks with my incredible dog and the occasional human. For many years now, I have tested the waters as a performer in live, local theatre, and whether it be studio artwork, ballet, jazz or modern dance, I'm a big supporter of the arts. As for sports and no matter the level, I'm a huge fan of basketball, track & field and baseball. Any or all of the above, of course, is only important and possible with the bond of family and friends. Here's to those special bonds for everyone.

Charley Worley Memorial Speed Skating Marathon is Slated for January 14th
The story behind the 1st Annual Charley Worley Speedskating Marathon begins with a tale about an individual who earned the respect of many across the community for his selflessness and commitment to the skating world. Turns out Charley Worley was extremely instrumental in his contribution to the High Altitude Skating Center for many years and was even deemed the "Ice Meister" by those who knew him. He spent many hours grooming the ice at the Butte High Altitude Skating Center, which led to a significant amount of world records gracing the rink. In the "New Year", would you say you got off to a good start, or are you having difficulty getting out of your own way? Even though we're already a few days into a new month and a new year, remember it's essential to regroup and tell yourself, "you got this". Maybe you want to start fresh with a new year's resolution, or perhaps you're interested in bettering yourself by being more aware of your surroundings. To start, one way to master "awareness" is by focusing on observations and traditions recognized throughout a given month. For example, January has many monthly observances. Finding the ones that suit you is key to "awareness".

“Old School” Speed Skating Set for January in Butte
Old School Speed Skating is coming to the Butte High Altitude Skating Center, January 13th through the 16th! The name of the event quickly caught my eye. "Old School", which I am...to a point, so don't get it twisted. Lol. As for the "skating" part, our family hit the ice quite often at Kennedy Common in Anaconda growing up, so I definitely consider it a favorite pastime. As described by the organizers of the event, SkateNOW, LLC, Old School Speed Skating is a casual social gathering on ice. You can wear wooden skates, hard-tails, nordic blades, or whatever you can find to help glide your (covered) feet across the ice.
